Maningrida is a vibrant community with essential services and facilities to support residents and visitors. Below is information about key community services and their operating hours.
Maningrida Supermarkets
The two supermarkets are independently owned by local organisations (BAC and MPA) and provide a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat & dairy, dry & frozen food, as well as other products.
BAC (Barlmarrk)
Open from 9am – 5pm Mon – Fri | 9am – 2pm Sat and Sun.
MPA
Open 9am – 5pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri | 9am – 8pm Thurs | 9am – 12pm on alternate Saturdays.
Service Stations
The two service stations are located at both BAC and MPA. Fuel cards can be purchased at the respective shops during normal trading hours, with the MPA bowsers also having a credit card facility. They are accessible 24/7, with both Diesel and Opal fuel available.
Maningrida Community Health Centre
Maningrida has a large and fully equipped community health centre which provides a range of health services to the community and outstations. The services include acute care and regular clinic programs such as Antenatal care, Under 5’s, Well-Baby clinic, immunization and aged care.
Other programs include preventative health projects such as school screening and STD programs. The clinic has two doctor’s positions, remote area nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers. There is also a medivac service operated by NT Aeromed for emergency evacuations by aircraft to Darwin. Maningrida has a large and fully equipped community health centre which provides a range of health services to the community and outstations.
The Clinic is open 9am – 4pm Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri | 1pm – 4pm Thurs.

Malabam Health
Malabam Health service a 6 bed Aged Care facility and also provides doctors and allied health professionals such as physiotherapists to the community. They also run a number of health programs throughout the year and work closely with the Community Health Centre to provide quality health services to the population.
Police Station
Police are on call throughout the week to assist with emergencies and other incidents. Maningrida is a restricted community, and as such alcohol is available by permit for residents only. It is an offence to bring alcohol into a restricted community.
The Police Station operates during office hours Monday to Friday. On Fridays from 9am – 5pm they offer a vehicle registration service on behalf of Motor Vehicle Registry NT.

Maningrida Emergency Response Group
The Maningrida Emergency Response Group (MERG) is the volunteer branch of NTES in Maningrida with a base at the Maningrida Police Station. The MERG has approximately 20 members trained in a variety of emergency skills, including fire response, road accident rescue, land and sea rescue and storm damage response.
Maningrida Arts Centre
The Maningrida Arts and Culture Centre hosts a variety of paintings, woven products and carvings for viewing and are available to purchase.
Located next to the Maningrida Airport.

Babbarra Womens Centre
The Womens Centre is located next to the College and has a variety of fabrics, printed T-Shirts, bags, cards and other products available to purchase.
They are open throughout the week from 9am – 5pm.
West Arnhem Shire Council
The Council offers a range of services including:
- Local government services and services on behalf of government agencies
- Sport and recreation programs
- Rubbish collection and removal
- Parks and gardens maintenance
- Operation of the 25-metre swimming pool.

Centrelink
The local Centrelink Office provides support for residents of the district. It is located next to the College and open office hours.
AirNorth
AirNorth provide a regular service to Maningrida with two flights daily Monday to Friday and one flight on Saturday and Sunday. The community has a tarmac airstrip enabling Airnorth to provide a service all year round.

Barge Services
Maningrida is serviced by Sea Swift for barge services. They transport everything from food to building materials and boats.
To access this service, setup an account via the website or by phone. There are strict cut off times for delivery of goods to the Darwin depots, to ensure they are packed on the upcoming barge. These can be obtained by contacting Sea Swift. Exact ETA can be obtained the day prior to landing via email or phoning.

Northern Land Council
Any information on road conditions or closures, as well as access permits for Arnhem Land roads can be gained from this organisation. The nearest NLC office is in Jabiru. Enquiries on (08) 8938 3000.
Traditional Credit Union
TCU are Australia’s only Aboriginal owned and operated credit union. They provide banking products & services, and employment & training for Aboriginal people. The Maningrida TCU office is located in the Shire office complex.
