Our Programs

Maningrida College offers comprehensive literacy programs from Preschool to Year 12, including Jolly Phonics, Accelerated Literacy, Words Their Way, and Essential English to support students’ language development. The College also delivers the Lúrra Language program to preserve Indigenous languages and the Learning on Country program in partnership with Djelk Rangers, combining traditional cultural knowledge with western education to prepare students for careers in land management and conservation.

The college’s cultural framework uses five symbols—the Fish Poison Tree, Three Canoes, Two Fish, Fishing Net, and Mangrove Tree—to represent core values including respect, two-way learning, cultural understanding, collaboration, and care for country that guide education and community life.

Learning on Country

The Learning on Country program partners with Djelk Rangers to provide culturally relevant education that combines traditional Indigenous knowledge with western learning, preparing students for employment as rangers and community leaders through hands-on conservation training and work experience.
